At only 7 years old, he dresses celebrities like Sharon Stone, works on his second show and has just signed with an agent. But who is this little American fashion designer who drives fashion crazy?

The Casino

star

has just posted a video on her own account where she parades wearing one of Max Alexander's creations: a short white faux fur coat that she accompanied with a "This

coat!, Love you Max !

".

Because at the age when little boys usually play with cars or slide merrily on toboggans, little Max Alexander, 7, prefers to sew, drape and make dresses.

He is a

fashion designer

as the title of his Instagram account soberly indicates.

With his angel face and curly hair, the child couturier has above all become a phenomenon, running American talk shows with his mother to tell his story: that of a precocious fashion designer who dreams of founding an empire " like Gucci,” he said.

First dress at 4 years old

The child prodigy lives in Los Angeles with his little brother and his big sister.

At the age of 4, he announced to his parents that he wanted to become a designer.

Stopping time and perplexity of the latter who have never seen him making a dress with his little hands.

“We were sitting at the table, told his mother Sherri Madison on ABC News in the show “Good Morning America” where she was accompanied by her son.

And I said to him: “Max, you have never sewn a dress in your life”.

And he told me it was because he didn't have a dress form and he needed one urgently."

So act.

Sherri, an artist who works mainly with reused cardboard, makes him a mannequin in this material for a first test.

And Max of

From one thing to another

Act 2: the little prince who also designs his dresses now wants to learn to sew.

Here he is allowed to sit on his mother's lap while she sews.

He watches patiently, then does it himself.

Sequined dresses for her kindergarten friends, a kimono for her big sister, a red coat for her grandmother Suzanne's birthday.

"So that she looks elegant and is warm," says the child.

It came out of himself like he had sewing in his blood

One thing leading to another, Max begins to create one dress a day in front of his mother's astonished eyes.

He also runs after school to the fabric store, his new playground. Then with his pocket money, he buys a sewing machine.

“He had never shown any interest in fashion, never looked at a magazine, nothing, surprised Sherri.

It came out of him on his own as if he had sewing in his blood.”

First parade in the garden

His creations?

Fringed dresses that graze the floor, mermaid outfits, rainbow pompom vests... At 5 years old, he organized his first fashion show in his garden in front of his family and friends.

Making both children's and adult clothes, Max says it takes about a week to create a dress from scratch.

And to explain that he knows it is over “when it looks good”.

But his favorite thing about tailoring is getting to his machine and then draping and pinning the model because that's when he sees his idea come to fruition.

Silk and velvet are the two materials he likes to work with the most and he says he is very inspired by water, the sun and mermaids.

Orders from all over the world

Today, Max is 7 years old.

He shares his creations and shows off his tailoring work on Instagram, explaining in his little happy child's voice how he puts crystals on a dress, how he uses his sewing machine and how he chooses his fabrics.

Pimped out by his mother who has become his manager, who also manages his Youtube channel and his Instagram, and now helped by his little brother Dorian, 4, he has already created more than 100 unique pieces under his label "Couture to the Max".

He is preparing his second fashion show, juggling with requests from celebrities, has extended his ranges to models of bags, swimsuits, jackets and he has just taken on an agent to pursue his career.

“He now has orders from France, Mexico, Germany, the United States and Canada,” explains his mother.

But the latter never knows what will come out when he sews.

“Max always does what he wants.

I then look on the waiting list and ask who wants the finished work.

A dress signed by Max is now worth almost 1,400 dollars, an already plump sum for a brand that has just been born.
