Which supermarket do Germans prefer to shop in?
A voting now gives an exciting interim result - with the best discounter in second place.
Munich - People have to go to supermarkets for basic supplies - unless they really only limit themselves to online delivery services.
After all, you need regular food supplies.
But which ones are consumers drawn to?
Many probably just in the nearest one, because it's just practical.
But that doesn't mean that there aren't any favorites among customers.
Some might also take a slightly longer path into account.
For the lowest price, for the best or largest range, for the most pleasant experience or even for a favorite product that may not be available elsewhere.
Edeka ahead of Aldi, Lidl, Kaufland and Rewe in supermarket voting
Our editorial team wanted to know more about it and started a survey on February 3, 2022.
“Which supermarket/discounter do you prefer to shop at?” was the question.
Mind you, the survey is not representative, everyone could vote according to taste.
The interim result (as of April 6, 2023) is exciting.
And hundreds of thousands of votes have come in.
Favorite Supermarket: You can keep voting
According to this, a classic supermarket chain is in first place: Edeka collected 17.51 percent of the votes.
Behind them are two discounters: Aldi (17.41%) and Lidl (16.9%) are almost level with each other and with Edeka.
Behind them, Kaufland, with its large branches, only occupies fourth place, followed by Rewe.
