It's been a while since Choupette, Karl Lagerfeld's Burmese cat hadn't shown the tip of her snout.
The white feline with sapphire blue eyes emerged from its cozy nest to make an appearance in the pages of the American edition of
Vogue
, for an issue that pays tribute to the designer who died in 2019. And here, no sophisticated pose, silhouette stretched or of haughty bearing of the head.
The animal, 11 years old but with a coat still as thick, appears sprawled, all legs in the air, in the arms of Naomi Campbell, who is wearing a black Balmain trouser suit for the occasion.
The photo was taken by Annie Leibovitz, portraitist of the stars, on the Alexandre III bridge in Paris.

One and a half million euros
Choupette is not at his first attempt.
She has already appeared on the cover of several international editions of
Vogue
, notably alongside Linda Evangelista and Gisele Bündchen.
And also posed with Karl Lagerfeld, in 2013, for the British edition of
Harper's Bazaar:
the latter had appeared with cat ears, giving rise to a mythical photo.
After the death of his illustrious master, the couturier's cat slowed down, taking up residence in a new residence located in Île-de-France, in the company of Françoise Caçote.
Karl Lagerfeld's faithful governess had indeed been appointed to take care of the "venerated cat", and received the sum of one and a half million euros in exchange for her services.
The amount has still not been settled, due to a complex succession.
But Choupette seems far from these administrative concerns, and resumes media service.
Next appearance?
May 1, 2023, on the occasion of the Met Gala which, this year, pays tribute to Karl Lagerfeld.
To which she will go in her most beautiful coat.
