FLORENCE - On the weekends from 15 April to 14 May, with two special trips on 25 April and 1 May, Dante's Train returns, aboard the historic "Centoporte" convoy, made available by the Fondazione FS Italiane, along the 'Apennines crossed by Dante Alighieri in his exile in Romagna.
It starts at 8:50 from Florence, the city where the Supreme Poet was born in 1265, and arrives at 1.51 pm in Ravenna, where Dante lived his last years until his death in 1321, along an original route which, a note explains, combines culture, craftsmanship, typical food and wine and slow tourism, with an extended stop of an hour and a half on Saturday in Faenza and Sunday in Brisighella, in the Ravenna area, to allow travelers to discover the two splendid locations.
The races will then resume after the summer break, from 2 September to 1 November.
On the occasion of the long weekend of 2, 3 and 4 June, however, the cruise of the Cities of Art will come to life: three days to discover Florence, Brisighella, Ravenna, Ferrara and Bologna.
On board each car of Dante's Train there is a travel assistant who takes care of accompanying passengers in their experience and narrating the history of the places visited during Alighieri's exile.
The Il Treno di Dante project is financed by the Emilia-Romagna Region and developed by Apt Servizi Emilia-Romagna, Toscana Promozione Turistica and organized by the Il Treno di Dante company.
