The band AnnenMayKantereit canceled the two concerts that they would have played on Thursday and Friday in Munich's Olympiahalle at short notice.
In a statement, she explains why.
Munich – Big disappointment for AnnenMayKantereit fans: The German pop-rock band canceled their two performances in the sold-out Munich Olympiahalle at short notice.
As the organizers announced on Wednesday evening, the concerts on Thursday and Friday had to be canceled due to illness.
It is still unclear when the performances will be rescheduled.
In a written statement, the three-piece band apologizes to the fans for the very short-term cancellation.
As you know from their songs, the lines are charged with emotions: "To be honest, we can hardly find the words for it," as Christopher Annen, Henning May and Severin Kantereit put it in their statement.
“We already had to postpone two concerts and now it hit us again.
There are a thousand diseases that we would ignore for you.
Unfortunately, there are also illnesses that make concerts impossible.” The musicians do not say exactly which illness is involved.
Disappointment for the fans: AnnenMayKantereit cancels concerts in Munich's Olympiahalle
According to the organizers, the tickets for the performances in the Olympic Hall, which were available in advance from 52 euros, remain valid.
Efforts are being made to find alternative dates.
The Olympiahalle asks the fans "for a little patience".
The band also emphasizes how much they regret the situation ("It breaks our hearts and it's just absolutely horrible. We're so sorry") and states that they are trying to "make catch-up dates clear".
In the coming days, the musicians want to contact the fans with details.
AnnenMayKantereit mainly reaches young people with her melancholic songs about love and adulthood.
On the music streaming service Spotify alone, more than 5.9 million fans listen to the band every month.
A distinctive feature of the group, which was founded in 2011 and plays mostly German-language songs, is the rough voice of singer Henning May.
