(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 13 - A Black Friday is expected for those traveling by train.
From 9.00 to 17.00 Trenitalia staff will fold their arms, after the national mobilization proclaimed by the trade unions FiltCgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Ugl Ferrovieri, Orsa Ferrovie and Fast Confsal.
The strike could have "a significant impact on railway circulation" and lead to "total and partial cancellations of Frecce, Intercity and Trenitalia regional trains", warns Trenitalia itself.
The effects, in terms of cancellations and delays, "could occur even before and extend beyond the end time of the strike", adds the company, thus inviting all passengers to "inquire before going to the station".
Further information on connections and services will be disseminated through the Trenitalia app, the Infomobility section of the Trenitalia website, the social and web channels of the FS Italiane group, the toll-free number 800 89 2021, as well as at the ticket offices, informs Trenitalia.
In motivating the protest, the trade unions denounce that "since the end of the pandemic phase, the working conditions of both all the railway workers and the employees of the cleaning contractors have worsened".
Therefore "we need an adequate hiring plan and a better balance in the scheduling of shifts that takes into account the reconciliation of working times with those of private life", say the unions, underlining that train crews "live with a
