From 9.00 to 17.00 Trenitalia personnel will fold their arms, after the national mobilization proclaimed by the trade unions Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Ugl Ferrovieri, Orsa Ferrovie and Fast Confsal.
The strike could have "a significant impact on railway traffic"
and lead to
"total and partial cancellations of Frecce, Intercity and Trenitalia regional trains"
, warns Trenitalia itself.
The effects, in terms of cancellations and delays, "may occur even earlier and continue beyond the time the strike ends", adds the company, thus inviting all passengers to "inquire before going to the station".

In motivating the protest, the trade unions
denounce that "since the end of the pandemic phase, the working conditions of both the railway workers and the employees of the cleaning contractors have worsened".

address the issue of attacks on staff on board trains and in stations",

The strike at Trenitalia crosses paths with that of
Trenord in the same hours
, after the unions Usb private work, Sgb and Cub Trasporti proclaimed a general strike of all public and private categories.
However Trenord explains, on its website, that in similar circumstances "the adhesions were not significant" and therefore "no interruptions of railway traffic are foreseen in Lombardy".
Any cancellations "will be promptly communicated", specifies the company, "guaranteeing" the airport service.
