The former Vice-President of the European Parliament Eva Kaili, detained since 9 December as part of the so-called Qatargate investigation, has been released from Haren prison and has returned to her home in Brussels, where she is now under house arrest with the obligation of an electronic bracelet.
The release was decided on Wednesday by the magistrates.
Greek politics finds its two-year-old daughter today, after more than four months.
"My daughter is waiting for me, I am very happy that soon I will be with her, our fight will continue with the determination of our lawyers", Kaili told reporters as he returned to his home in Brussels where he is now under house arrest in area of the so-called Qatargate.
Speaking to reporters from the window of the taxi that brought her home, Kaili added: "We'll talk soon."
