The Manchester City Norwegian scored his 35th league goal against West Ham to surpass the previous record of 34 set by Alan Shearer and Andrew Cole.
"It's incredible and I'm really happy and I'm also happy about the three points," he told the BBC. In the end, that's what matters and I'm happy.
Haaland had already set a season record of 38 games, beating Mohamed Salah's 32 goals for Liverpool in 2017-18.
"Should I celebrate the finish line at home? I'm very happy with this record but I don't want to think about it or others. Now I go home, eat something and play video games. I won't say which one unless everyone makes fun of me. Then I'll go to bed This is how I celebrate this milestone."
