(ANSA) - MILAN, MAY 11 - Microsoft has published the data of the third edition of the Work Trend Index "Will AI fix work?", which highlights the opportunities offered to the world of work by the new Artificial Intelligence platforms. The most interesting fact is that 62% of Italians declare themselves willing to delegate more work tasks to AI. According to 74% of managers in our country, however, employees will need new skills to be ready for the growth of technology and not be overwhelmed by it. The annual study includes responses from an audience of about 31,31 people in 42 countries, including Italy. Despite widespread concern about AI replacing jobs, the data reveals that only 49% of Italians – lower than the 67% global – fear artificial intelligence. Among the tasks that compatriots would gladly delegate are administrative tasks (68%) and analysis tasks (55%), along with some more creative tasks (27%). The report's data also shows that in Italy, 12% of business leaders would be willing to use AI tools to support their workforce, rather than replace it. Headcount reduction is the last item on the list of what leaders would like, voted for by only 68% of respondents. Managers hope that AI can help their employees perform necessary but repetitive tasks, increasing workers' well-being, reducing time spent on low-value activities and accelerating the pace of work. For Microsoft, innovation could reduce so-called "digital debt," the influx of data, emails, meetings, and notifications that people can't handle and that slow down critical and creative thinking. Not surprisingly, 62% of people globally say they do not have enough time to concentrate during the working day, while <>% have to spend too much space looking for information.
