(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, MAY 11 - American Security Advisor Jake Sullivan met in Vienna with the head of foreign policy of the Chinese Communist Party, Wang Yi. The White House said in a statement.
Sullivan and Wang Yi had a "frank, substantive and constructive" discussion on key issues in bilateral relations between the US and China, global and regional security, Russia's war against Ukraine and the Taiwan Strait, the statement said.
The meeting is part of ongoing efforts to keep dialogue open with Beijing based on commitments made by Joe Biden and Xi Jinping in Bali last November. The US adviser and the Chinese official agreed to "maintain this important channel of communication". (ANSA).
