Artificial intelligence also enters Meta's advertisements. As Reuters online reports, the company will begin testing these tools to create content such as text and image backgrounds. A select group of advertisers will be invited to experiment with the tools in a sort of "playground" the company calls AI Sandbox, Meta executives explained at an event in New York.
The executives did not specify which and how many advertisers will have access to the space initially, saying only that it is a small group. Meta plans to grant access to more advertisers in July and integrate some of the features into generic advertising products later this year. The announcement marks the Facebook and Instagram owner's first foray into launching products using generative AI technology, following ChatGpt's popularity. And it comes a few hours after Google, a competitor in online advertising, during its developer conference showed how AI will integrate into its most popular products, starting with search.
