"Drama Queen" is the name of the LGBT Theater Festival that will take place from June 2-10, during which for an entire week plays, performances and events with original and international LGBT content will be staged in Habima Hall 4 of the National Theater, in cooperation with the Triangle Theater.

The event will be attended by 80 artists from Israel's new proud voice, including Ohad Hitman, Michael Ben David, Noam Kleinstein, Dikla Hadar, Noy Halperin, Harel Lisman and more.

Precisely in these politically charged times, the Triangle Theater decided to place the LGBT community at the forefront of the National Theater and to stage plays centered on stories about women from all corners of the LGBT spectrum – against the background of the ongoing harm that many claim is to the status of women, and alongside the struggle of Israeli theater filmmakers to ensure equal representation of at least fifty percent of women filmmakers in the theater.

In addition, a stage will be given to the transsexual community, and for the first time in Israel, a play with two heroes on the trans spectrum will be presented.

Among the events that will be staged at the festival are "Daniel My Husband", "My Dad Ben", "Pride of the Savannah", "Casting Error" and "Five Lesbians Eat Quiche".

"We hope that through the stories we tell in our plays, led by dozens of LGBT artists, we will succeed in strengthening the LGBT identity of more and more women and people from the community, giving work to LGBT artists and expanding the LGBT repertoire in Israeli theater," said the directors of the Triangle Theater Yuval Koren, Rom Reznik and Nimrod Danishman.
