On June 22, the new season of "Just Like That," the sequel to "Sex and the City," premieres, bringing back two much-loved characters from the parent series that we haven't seen in the new production yet.
The first character to return is, of course, that of Aiden (played by John Corbett), one of Carrie's (Sarah Jessica Parker) mythological love interests, who will join the next season of Just Like That as a central character – but we already knew that, because Aiden's return was not kept secret by everyone involved in the production.
But on Thursday night, the cards were reshuffled after US entertainment magazine Variety revealed that none other than Samantha Jones, played by Kim Cattrall, is also making a comeback! The disappointing news is that this will be a limited guest appearance of only one scene in the final episode of the season, which Cattrall filmed alone, with no other actors by her side.
Waiting for a full comeback. "Sex and the City" stars,
However, the very fact that the actress agreed to return to the world of "Sex" after adamantly refusing to participate in a third feature film (which was ultimately not filmed) and the first season of "Just Like That" — and even falling out with Parker over it — is a game changer. Who knows, maybe that also leaves the door open for Cattrall to join the show's third season, if and when it is produced, full-time.
Caution, spoilers in the next paragraph.
So what exactly happens in the comeback scene in question, filmed on March 22 in New York? Well, Samantha Jones, who now lives in London, is reportedly on the phone with Carrie and... That's basically all we know right now. Sorry. And just like that, this knowledge comes to an end.
