Mark Margolis died of an illness Thursday, August 3 at the age of 83, his son told The Hollywood Reporter Friday morning. He was hospitalized at Mount Sinai in New York. Famous for his roles in Breaking Bad, or Better Call Saul, the actor also had to his credit more than 70 films, including Scarface, Requiem for a Dream or Black Swan.

On social networks, tributes are pouring in. "He was one of a kind. We will not see his tastes again. (...) I was lucky to know him," shared his manager since 2007, Robert Kolker.
Born in 1939 in Philadelphia, he became Darren Aronofski's favorite actor. Passionate about theater, he took classes in New York where he learned alongside Stella Adler at the Actors Studio, then Lee Strasberg and Barbara Loden. Spotted very quickly, he chains small roles. He became a staple after playing Alberto "The Shadow" in Scarface, Antonio Nappa in the series Oz and Don Héctor "Tio" Salamanca in the series Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. He also played alongside Ben Affleck in Gone Baby Gone, Black Swan, The Insurgents and The Last Freedmen.
