Captain (res.) Sagi Golan, z"l, who fell during a battle in Kibbutz Be'eri against Hamas terrorists, was supposed to marry his partner Omer in a week to the tune of the song "I Got to Love." Yesterday (Thursday), Ivri Leader came to perform the song at his funeral.
Sagi was the commander of a team of fighters in the Lutar unit. On Saturday, he went down to Kibbutz Be'eri to save lives and besieged families without being called upon. On Sunday, the team he led encountered terrorists, and Sagi fell during the battle.

His partner Omar eulogized him: "You, as usual, were the hero. The one who leads the team. The one who gets hit first. A strong kidnapper to save others. Striving for touch without fear. You knew there were people who needed you and you ran to save them. Because you have always put the other before you, because you have always judged each one on merit. Our canopy was torn apart by the terrorists, but no one can hurt our love. Not one. My beloved."
