Abertis wins four toll highways in Puerto Rico: the Spanish group's $2.85 billion bid has won "the largest highway privatization process ever carried out in Puerto Rico," which aims to increase the economic efficiency of the island's last remaining toll highways, which account for more than 60% of traffic. The new assets "add 192 km of highly strategic roads" that connect the most densely populated areas to the metropolitan area of San Juan, as well as to the south and east of the island. Shareholders will contribute €1.3 billion to support the financing of the transaction, the group said.
