For the murder of Alessio Cini, the 57-year-old textile technician originally from Prato, found dead on the morning of 8 January in front of his house in the countryside of Agliana (Pistoia), the Pistoia prosecutor's office has issued a detention order against a 58-year-old, brother-in-law and neighbor of the victim.
Cini was attacked with a bar on the head, hit several times in the chest and then set on fire while he was still alive.
The environmental interceptions in the suspect's car, the prosecutor's office reports in a note, "recorded various conversations" that the suspect "had with himself in a loud voice (soliloquy), during which he reconstructed the moments of the attack on the victim, the modalities of the same, the fatal cause produced by this aggression, the image of the blood, the burning".
The prosecutor's office also explains that the property investigations "have made it possible to identify the probable motive for the criminal act, which can be found in a difficult income situation for the suspect, and in an hereditary expectation which arose from the death of Alessio Cini and from which he could have indirectly benefited".
