A remarkable start.
Only a few days after his victory at the “Star Academy”, singer Pierre Garnier rose to the top of the French charts on several music streaming platforms, Charts in France and BFMTV reported this Thursday.
The title “Those we were”, revealed this Tuesday online, is already number 1 in the Top France of Spotify, Deezer and Apple Music, surpassing titles by Dadju, Aya Nakamura, or even PLK and Jul.
In 24 hours, the single collected 2 million plays, reports the Columbia France label.
This is therefore the best streaming start for a French pop single, indicates the record company.
An album in preparation
This title, written by Pierre Garnier and two of his friends a few weeks before Star Academy, was already known to fans of the show before its release.
In the middle of the final this Saturday evening, the one who was then only a finalist had the surprise of being able to perform it live, with an acoustic guitar, alongside the rapper Dadju.
“I wasn’t aware of it at all.
It was Dadju who took this initiative and it was a huge gift that he gave me,” Pierre confided to Le Parisien the day after his victory.
After this successful first single, the “Star Ac’” winner must also work on his first album.
“I just know that I will sing in French and that there will be my touch, so a lot of guitar.
Afterwards, I like a lot of different styles, so I'm going to try to condense everything to find my own.
I want an album that resembles me,” he explained to Le Parisien.
Pierre Garnier will also appear on the Star Academy tour, closer to the public, from March 9.
