The Court of Assizes of Appeal of Milan confirmed the sentence of life imprisonment and a year and a half of daytime isolation for Alessandro Maja, the 60-year-old who, on the night between 3 and 4 May 2022, killed in the family home in Samarate (Varese) his 16-year-old daughter Giulia and his wife Stefania Pivetta, 56, were hit with a hammer while they were sleeping.
Immediately afterwards the man also tried to kill his eldest son Nicolò, 23 years old, who was left seriously disabled and today absent from the trial because he was hospitalized for a new scheduled surgery.
