The renewal of the national food industry contract 2023-2027 was signed overnight between Fai-Cisl, Flai-Cgil, Uila-Uil and the sector business associations.
This was announced by the unions who, after four days of non-stop negotiations, reached an agreement on which they express full satisfaction with the results achieved in line with the objectives of the platform, especially in terms of wages, welfare and the fight against precariousness.
The new agreement provides for an increase of 280 euros for the economic part.
The first tranche starts from 1 December 2023 with an increase of 75 euros, already in the first 14 months of contractual application workers will recover an amount of 170 euros, 60% of the total expected increase.
For cases of failure to second level bargaining, another 15 euros per month are added to those already foreseen.
Furthermore, the provision of contractual welfare is improved, with an increase of 4 euros for the Fasa supplementary health fund to guarantee greater benefits.
For the Alifond supplementary pension fund, the contribution paid by companies reaches 1.5% (+0.3%, equivalent to 6 euros);
the fund to support maternity and paternity leave is also strengthened.
The results are also important on the reduction of working hours, which in the food sector had not undergone changes at a national level for 30 years: starting from 1 January 2026 those who work 18 and 21 hour shifts will have a reduction of 4 hours to which another 4 hours will be added the following year, while from 1 January 2027 the 4 hour reduction will apply to all male and female workers.
