New and innovative art events are being held in Damascus for the first time in the third day of a festival under the skies of Damascus for folk arts and outdoor performances.

On the road to Salhia, meters from the Institute of Folk Arts in Damascus, a group of students gathered for a live painting demonstration that represented an important opportunity for the public and interested to follow the work of artists as they perform their work outdoors.

The event was attended by 12 students who presented paintings of various subjects and methods, including nature, autumn and the landmarks of old Damascus, in addition to the portrait that dominated their paintings using oil colors and lead.

The paintings reflected the high level of training offered by the institute to its students. Its director, Siham Ezzo, explained that participants from different ages chose topics suitable for each of them, pointing to the importance of these events, especially in the open air because they give students more motivation by dealing with people as they watch their drawings from the beginning. Co-student Samer Al-Saidi pointed out the importance of effectiveness in breaking the barrier facing the drawing in front of the audience, noting that he presented paintings depicting the garden located in the Salhia area of ​​the Impressionist School using acrylic and the participation of the student Ola Zibaq through a portrait of a person sitting in front of her in pencil, the first experience with people directly Outdoors, she is delighted with this beautiful experience, which she hopes will always be repeated, while student Mohamed Zain Kouki, with his painting, expressed the autumn in oil colors and wished to repeat this kind of artistic activities.

In order to transfer the stereotypical state of cultural work from the closed halls to the street, the cultural bus that started from the governorate square towards the Hijaz Square turned to the streets of Damascus to a platform for playing national music and songs with the participation of a group of musicians on various musical instruments amid amazement of the people. Their hearts with joy and happiness.

Waseem al-Mobayed, Director of Damascus Culture, stressed the need to move the cultural situation to the street instead of inviting people to attend activities within the centers to sow the state of love and enhance the presence of culture in our daily lives.

Musician Simon Mraish, who participated in this event, said that the outdoor activities are universal and it is a beautiful case especially that the artists are the ones who go to the people to their places and wish to repeat them permanently.

University student Mohammed al-Zu'bi expressed his happiness with this beautiful cultural carnival that exists among the people, which saves time to go to cultural places, while stopping this cultural landscape, Mohammed al-Ajmi because it reflects the essence of Damascus, which is the joy and happiness befitting it and all Syria, wishing to see this cultural carnival continuously.
