At around 11:00 pm yesterday (2nd), the fire service received a report that a fire broke out at Stonecutters Island Container Terminal South Road and Container Terminal No. 8. The firefighting arrived at the scene and found that the fire was fierce and there were two fire heads on the scene. Then two teams of smoke caps and two throats were mobilized.

The fire extinguished the fire. Preliminary investigations revealed that the fire was a group of styrofoam boxes placed on the roadside. The cause of the fire was suspicious. The police classified the case as "arson" and followed up.

The location of the scene is Container Terminal South Road, a dug-out road near Xinghua Street West Roundabout. The owner of the styrofoam box, Mr. Li, pointed out that more than 20,000 styrofoam boxes were placed on the site for temporary storage and recycling. This time the loss was tens of thousands of yuan.

I heard about the fire of the styrofoam box. In 2016, there was a third-level fire at the container yard of the Kwai Chung Terminal, and a large number of styrofoam was stored at the recycling site. At that time, it was estimated that the fire spread to the nearby flammable materials and caused an explosion.

In the early morning of March 26 last year, a group of styrofoam boxes placed at the junction of Lai Chi Kok Road and Tokyo Street, and at the Changsha Bay Vegetable Wholesale Market suddenly caught fire. The smoke plummeted into the air, and the fire spread to neighboring trucks. After the fire extinguished the fire, thousands of styrofoam boxes were put torch, and the cause of the fire was initially believed to be suspicious. At the junction of Lai Chi Kok Road and Tokyo Street, similar fires of styrofoam cases have occurred many times. Including January 2018 and early January 2017.

In addition, in May 2017, a pile of styrofoam boxes on the road next to the site suddenly caught fire. At that time, two male workers outside were working at a workbench next to the site.
