Boosters in chord: Almost 2300 citizens got their prick on Wednesday.

Also a garbage man who basically had himself vaccinated as he drove by.

Freising

- "An impressive example of how well the organizations in the Freising district work together was the booster special vaccination campaign in the Gute Änger secondary school on Wednesday," reports District Office spokesman Robert Stangl. 2286 people received their booster vaccinations that day. "Everything went well", was the conclusion of Hubert Böck from the BRK Freising, who was responsible for the overall organization.

As early as 5.30 a.m., the first people willing to be vaccinated were standing in front of the entrance door of the secondary school.

"At 6 o'clock the booth was full," says Stefan Anneser, head of operations for the Red Cross.

From 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., appointments were made, a total of 2166, said Stangl, spokesman for the authorities.

“In between, some canceled their appointment, others booked them again and some came by spontaneously.

If it was organizationally possible, these were pushed in.

Like, for example, a garbage collector who practically had himself vaccinated while driving by.

And at 8.15 p.m. another stroller came who wanted to be boosted quickly. "

Almost 2300 citizens had themselves boosted on Wednesday.

All of this was possible "because the action was carried out in an unbureaucratic and uncomplicated manner," as Stangl reports.

They had asked to bring the completed documents to the vaccination.

It is estimated that 90 percent of those vaccinated also adhered to it.

A printer was available for the others.

Stangl: “The registration process, which the fire fighters took care of, went very quickly.” Waiting times in front of the doctor's rooms were also limited.

“At least they had to wait longer than 15 minutes,” said Böck.

Young man from Neufahrn even got his injection ten minutes before the appointment

Thomas Schwaiger even finished before his appointment.

The young man from Neufahrn was actually on at noon, at 11.50 the syringe was already set.

Schwaiger had found out about the special vaccination campaign via Facebook and registered immediately.

"I actually wanted to go before Christmas, but I didn't get an appointment."

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

At 12.30 p.m., the helpers of the BRK readiness had already prepared and drawn 1000 vaccine doses, according to Stangl.

Six doctors administered the injections to those willing to be vaccinated, and the THW Freising supported them with the documentation.

And in the school gymnasium, the Johanniter had set up a waiting area in which the "patients" were monitored for about 15 minutes after the vaccination.

There was no lunch break.

Stangl: “The helpers and doctors only took alternating short breaks in between, during which they were looked after by the BRK's catering team.

The various organizations in the district therefore helped together and ensured that - statistically speaking - more than one percent of the district's population received their booster vaccination within one day. "
