Opinion | It's not too late to delay Iran Israel today

2022-06-06T21:04:53.238Z

The Islamic Republic has enough enriched uranium to produce 2 or 3 nuclear bombs, but it does not want to break the vessels • It seems that the IAEA wants to push the Iranians into a corner, but without US help it would be very problematic

In recent weeks, Iran has made headlines mainly against the backdrop of a series of senior officials who have mysteriously found their deaths in one way or another, but behind the intense work of its evil groves lurks great concern about the ongoing progress in its nuclear program.

This is a progress that is mainly lateral - with a slow but continuous accumulation of enriched uranium, in an amount that is already sufficient for two or three bombs.

Meanwhile, it continues to be kept from completely breaking the tools.

Therefore, it also does not enrich to a military level of 90% (necessary for the production of a bomb), in order to leave an opening for negotiations and a new nuclear agreement, and especially so as not to open the gates of hell on it.

The slow accumulation of the substance at the current enrichment level of 60% - along with the installation of advanced centrifuges - should allow it to burst faster into the bomb, if it decides to do so.

This is also the logic at the heart of the proponents of backing the nuclear deal: Take from Iran the material it has enriched, they say, and withdraw it significantly.

A similar logic is at the heart of the opponents' claims to return to the agreement.

With advanced centrifuges and a proven ability in enrichment, they say, it will take the Iranians a short time to re-accumulate the material once the agreement expires or is violated.

Those who systematically hid their activities (even according to IAEA inspectors) cannot be trusted not to hide again in the future.

The IAEA is determined to act against Tehran, but needs the United States

It seems that under the leadership of the current chairman, Rafael Grossi, the IAEA is determined to push the Iranians into a corner.

To succeed in this, it needs the United States, which shows very little interest in it, if at all. The Washington administration does not hide its eagerness to return to the agreement and remove the Iran portfolio from the table;

It should not be understood that Iran is going to become nuclear tomorrow.

In terms of enriched uranium it has a quantity, but as stated it does not have a sufficient quality.

In terms of other components related to the construction of the explosive mechanism it is about two years away from completing the process.

This means that there is still enough time to press it in every way - political, economic, military, conscious and secret - to continue to thwart, harm, disrupt and delay it on the way to the bomb.
