Wolfratshausen – Despite an expansion of the two after-school care centers in the La Vida youth center and the Waldram elementary and middle school, the spatial capacities are not sufficient to cover the high need for care.
Fritz Meixner, managing director of the children and youth development association (KJFV), therefore proposed a solution to the culture committee.
"The last spatial resources for creating additional childcare places after the morning lessons are in the basement of the Weidach elementary school," explained Meixner.
The redesign of a former materials store, a classroom and a workroom will cost the city 39,700 euros.
In the coming school year, 22 Weidacher primary school children will also be cared for there.
"This would also eliminate personnel-intensive bus trips to the other two daycare centers," said Meixner.
The members of the culture committee headed by the third mayor, Annette Heinloth (Greens), unanimously approved the proposal.
An open concept is necessary
In another item on the agenda, the head of the middle school, Frank Schwesig, advocated a model change from the bound to the open all-day concept for grades 5 to 7. "I don't see any other way," he urged a decision.
The reason is that in the fifth grade only two classes can be formed instead of three classes due to the lower number of registrations.
In order not to lose the afternoon care, a change to an open all-day concept and an extension to the sixth and seventh grades is necessary.
Pupils are to be looked after across classes and grades for two to four days a week until 3:30 p.m.
The offer is to be made available at the middle school on Hammerschmiedweg.
The sponsorship is taken over by the children and youth development association.
Frank Schwesig, who at the same time in his function as network coordinator of the secondary schools in Königsdorf, Dietramszell.
Geretsried, Wolfratshausen and Waldram spoke in the culture committee, also referred to the forthcoming merger of the Wolfratshausen and Waldram middle schools on Hammerschmiedweg.
Parent initiative against relocation of the fifth graders
Nine out of ten city councilors approved the proposed resolution to form the fifth classes in a two-stream system at the Hammerschmiedweg school location.
Peter Lobenstein (Greens) voted against it.
Shortly after the decision, a parent initiative in Waldram collected signatures against the move of the fifth graders to the Hammersmith School.
The culture committee unanimously decided to use the “Little Bird” digital device.
The parents' portal, which is already being used in the neighboring town of Geretsried, is intended to give an up-to-the-minute overview of the available and vacant daycare places.
The contract runs for five years, the annual service fee is 3,625 euros net.
