As a contact point for hundreds of families, the children and youth support association was also very busy in 2023, its bosses report to the Wolfratshausen city council.

Wolfratshausen - The managing director of the children and youth support association, Fritz Meixner, recently presented many numbers and bar charts to the city council's cultural committee.

Accordingly, in the past financial year there was income of 5.76 million euros compared to an expenditure volume of 5.81 million euros.

Of this, 3.78 million euros go to personnel;

the operating costs amount to around 2.1 million euros.

For comparison: in 2022, income and expenses were still around five million euros each.

Last year's deficit will be offset by a positive account balance.

Meixner was relieved to note that grants and funding had increased.

The child-related operating cost support increased from 1.1 to 1.2 million euros within one year.

The Free State is now funding Wolfratshausen youth work with 546,000 instead of the previous 424,000 euros.

The district supports open youth and social work in schools with around 173,000 euros.

The subsidy from the city of Wolfratshausen amounted to 765,000 euros in 2023.

“The city will not abandon this association because it achieves an incredible amount,” promised city councilor Dr.

Manfred Fleischer (Wolfratshauser List).

The KJFV also manages the foundation for children and young people in Geretsried/Wolfratshausen, which has distributed 67,425 euros for charitable purposes since it was founded.

After the annual report, Meixner announced the preliminary registration numbers for lunchtime care and the accommodation of primary school students in daycare centers.

Accordingly, 180 children will attend the first grades of the two elementary schools on Hammerschmiedweg and in Waldram this fall.

132 of them are registered for daycare and lunchtime care.

A total of 291 after-school places are currently required in the Waldram, Wolfratshausen and Weidach daycare centers, including the integrative admissions of 34 children with special needs.

Only the demand for childcare places at the Waldram primary school exceeds the supply.

“We have a problem there because there are currently too few fourth-grade graduates and a lot of new registrations for the new school year,” says Meixner.

The committee, led by Third Mayor Annette Heinloth (Greens), unanimously commissioned the KJFV to develop short and medium-term solutions in close cooperation with the school principals and the city of Wolfratshausen.

At the end of the meeting, the new deputy managing director of the KJFV, Walter Bernlochner, introduced himself to the committee.

The 55-year-old took over the pedagogical management of the children's department in September.

He previously worked in youth welfare offices in Rosenheim and Leipzig.

“I am impressed by the efficiency of the children and youth support association,” said the qualified social worker after his debut.
