Monika Gruber got involved in the "mother debate".

She finds the “gender nonsense despicable of women”.

This has drawn a lot of criticism.

Munich – A video by the Bavarian cabaret artist and actress Monika Gruber is currently causing a stir on social networks.

For more than a minute, the 51-year-old shoots in a rage against the "gender nonsense".

This is "misogynist".

Apparently another point of criticism from the cabaret artist: the new self-determination law of the federal government.

She paints the picture of a horror scenario in which men can legally change their gender every year in order to gain access to women's changing rooms.

In the end, she addresses her viewers directly with an appeal: "Don't put up with it!"

Scandal about the formulation of the news: "giving birth" instead of "mother"

Background and trigger is a post on the Instagram channel of the Tagesschau.

On April 1, an article appeared there about a planned draft law by Family Minister Lisa Paus.

After the birth of a child, this also provides for two weeks of paid leave for the second parent.

According to their own statements, the editors did not want to discriminate against anyone in the text and therefore used the word "participating person" instead of "mother".

The wording said, among other things: "The partner of the

person giving birth

should in future be released two weeks after the birth."

The choice of words caused a stir on the internet

This formulation caused a wave of outrage on social networks.

Among the critics of the wording: Markus Söder.

The Bavarian Prime Minister expressed his incomprehension on Twitter and linked a message from

Bild.de.

"There is no need for compulsory fees for such nonsense," he says.

That can't be meant seriously, can it?

The woke madness must be corrected by the ARD.

For such nonsense, there is no penalty.

In the meantime, the Tagesschau editors have changed the choice of words in the article.

Instead of “delivering person” it says “mother” again.

At the end of the text there is only a note that the spelling was originally different:

Editor's note: In the text, the phrases "person giving birth" and "person giving birth" have been replaced by "mother" because they led to misunderstandings.

In addition, the wording "employer" was replaced by "employer".

The Bavarian cabaret artist sees it similar to Söder.

At first she thought the news was an April Fool's joke.

She wonders when more people will realize that all this gender nonsense is deeply misogynistic.

She also wonders whether she is a "gender-fluctuating person with an unused birthing device" even then - after all, she is not a woman or a mother.

Her video goes on to say:

I'm pretty sure that the red-green mongrel will wave through the draft law in a cloak-and-dagger action that you can choose your gender once a year.

Gruber brings example with women's locker room

With this statement, the cabaret artist alludes to the new self-determination law of the federal government, which replaces the Transsexual Law (TSG), which has existed for 40 years.

Gruber's fear: At some point, everyone could change their own sex before the law every year.

Then she had to explain to her nieces when they visited the thermal baths that it was better to change in the car.

After all, the owner of the spa could not do anything about "guys with hanging genitals and dangling eggs" in the women's locker room.

At the end of the video, the 51-year-old addresses her viewers directly.

They shouldn't put up with all this anymore.

"Because if it's really only the smarter ones who give in, the idiots will eventually win."

"You speak from my soul": Video receives encouragement from fans

Similar to the contribution of the Tagesschau, Gruber's reaction triggered a media response.

A look at the comment column shortly after publication shows that many Monika Gruber fans share their opinion.

"Thank you very much, you speak to my soul.

I don't know how the whole thing is supposed to go well until 2025," writes one follower.

And presenter Caroline Beil also comments with encouragement: "I sign."

Critics accuse Gruber of using right-wing narratives

But a few hours later, more critical comments spread.

The cabaret artist is accused of "pouring fuel on the fire".

Comments range from "just off the mark", "problematic" and "is that supposed to be funny or is it just baseless hatred?", to "hurtful" and "right dog whistle".

The activist Duke Duong has more than 10,000 followers on Instagram under the name "trans.parenz".

He also commented below the video.

His criticism:

I am disappointed in this video.

Disappointed that you didn't approach this topic more intensively and factually and instead crack jokes at the expense of trans* people here.

The woman from Freising has already caused controversial statements in the past.

In 2019, Gruber explained in a humorous video that she did not believe in a ban on cheerleaders.

The top German basketball club Alba Berlin had previously announced that it would not use cheerleaders at home games in the future.

The decision and Monika Gruber's video sparked a debate about sport and sexism in cheerleading.
