Now the municipality of Hohenkammer has also been hit: brazen thieves stole two town signs at the weekend.

Hohenkammer – All of a sudden, two town signs were missing: On Monday morning, employees of the municipality of Hohenkammer found that apparently unknown perpetrators had dismantled the yellow signs at the entrances to Eglhausen and Waltenhofen. The municipality will therefore also file a complaint. "This is not a trivial offense," says Marco Unruh, managing director of the municipality.

The theft is particularly annoying because the signs have just been purchased. "We used extra special screws," says Unruh, "so the perpetrators needed tools for the theft." This virtually eliminates a youth prank in a beer mood.

Community hopes for witness clues

The municipality of Hohenkammer therefore asks its citizens to report any observations made last weekend to the Freising police, telephone (0 81 61) 5 30 50, or to the municipality, telephone (0 81 37) 9 38 50.

Shield-citizen prank also in other municipalities

The Hallertau communities of Au and Nandlstadt have also had several experiences with the sign thieves. Disappeared town signs, swapped panels and damage to property due to graffiti were an issue in August last year - and before that a few times.
Also in demand in May last year were the town signs of Paunzhausen and Mauern.
