Tonight I had a strange dream. A long series of ceremonies took place in a dream, all of which featured a mustachioed old man dressed in a suit and draped in a PLO flag, in which I easily recognized Abu Mazen. In one ceremony, he cut the ribbon at the "Palestinian Heritage Site" in Masada. In the third, he opened the "Palestinian Heritage Site" in the hiding caves of the Jewish rebels in Beit Guvrin, and in the third, while leaning against the stones of the Western Wall, he smiled triumphantly as he inaugurated the "Palestinian Heritage Site" of the Temples on the Temple Mount.
The last scene must have been particularly insane, because I woke up from my dream like a lightning bolt only to discover that what a normal person has is a delusional nightmare – UNESCO seems right and proper. Abu Mazen's gang has not yet accepted responsibility for Masada, Beit Guvrin and the Temple Mount from UNESCO, but this cynical organization has already entrusted it with the wonderful antiquities of Jericho.
UNESCO's decision to accede to the Palestinian Authority's request to consider Jericho its heritage site is a spit in the face of any civilized person, especially because of the PA's proven record of erasing historical truth and expression on the ground.
The only connection of the Arabs of the Land of Israel, who are called "Palestinians," to the historical and cultural heritage of this land amounts to incessant attempts to destroy and destroy our glorious heritage. They destroy and destroy the testimonies of the past in a variety of ways – robbing antiquities in order to get rich, flattening them indifferently in order to build roads and buildings, and mainly working constantly and deliberately to conceal artifacts that perpetuate the Jewish past of the land.
Unfortunately for Abu Mazen and his people, the Land of Israel abounds in thousands and tens of thousands of sites and artifacts, all of which cry out the connection between the Jewish people and its land throughout the generations.
The Palestinian Authority can't erase them all and can't completely steal our history, but it's trying. Trying with all his might, and wherever Israel pulls its hands away. These days, an attempt is being made to damage the antiquities of the Jewish people at the altar site on Mount Ibal, and parts of them have apparently been lost forever. This is not the first loss.
Other priceless sites, such as Herod's sunken gardens, were completely destroyed by wrongdoers who acted in the name of the barbaric desire to distort the country's past in order to appropriate it for themselves in the future.

Just as in other areas, the Arab destruction effort was not limited to Judea, Samaria and Gaza, but spilled over joyfully into the Green Line, and even to sites of other cultures and peoples, not necessarily Jewish.
Particularly memorable was the severe vandalism in Avdat National Park (the Arab terrorists came there with ATVs to break walls, spilled paint, knocked down pillars in ancient churches and broke marble prayer tables into pieces), but there were many others like him, who did not receive media attention.
Israel should ignore UNESCO's outrageous decision, but it is not enough. The proper answer to the destroyers of human civilization can only be one: to return to the Israeli authorities control and de facto responsibility for the antiquities of Jericho, in order to save them – as long as it is not too late.
