In Chile, images of his murder have been flooding social media for the past two weeks. On Tuesday 24 October, Sabrina Durán Montero was executed in broad daylight in the streets of Santiago, with eight bullets to her body. At the age of 24, this young Chilean had become famous on the social network TikTok, on which she now has more than 637,000 subscribers. She was, however, best known for being the head of a gang of drug dealers. This earned her the nickname "Narco Queen." TikTok star in jail

According to the British tabloid The Sun, Sabrina Durán Montero had been involved in drug trafficking for a long time. At the beginning of 2023, the young woman along with two of her brothers (she is the youngest of a family of nine siblings, according to L'DNA) was arrested on suspicion of "supplying, distributing and trafficking cannabis, cocaine, MDMA and magic mushrooms". Behind bars, she falls under the spell of her cellmate, a woman named Antonella Marchant, the leader of the Los Marchant gang sentenced to fifteen years in prison after her arrest in 2021.

It was at the same time that Sabrina Durán Montero broke through on TikTok where she documented her life in prison. From her cell, in sexy bras and clothes, the inmate performs choreographies to reggaeton, under the pseudonym "Joakina Gusman" (@katrinagusman), in reference to the powerful drug trafficker Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzman. The gamble paid off. Very quickly, his subscriber counter swelled to hundreds of thousands of followers.

"Young people often admire individuals like Ina (her other nickname, editor's note), who represent a world of power, quick wealth, stolen luxury cars and guns," observes Pilar Lizana, a security specialist at the Chilean research center AthenaLab, quoted by L'ADN.

Released a few months later, on parole, the famous "Narco Queen" continues her activity on social networks. When she's not dancing with her son, she's unwrapping her packages in front of the camera or talking about manicures. Far (very far) from the world of drugs, which finally caught up with her on Tuesday, October 24, the day of her murder.
