The cabinet meeting with the participation of the heads of the confrontation line authorities in the North/Lepm
Despite the disaster in Gaza, in which 21 reservists were killed, today the Prime Minister held the planned meeting with the heads of the conflict line authorities, which has already been postponed several times due to security incidents and disputes with the venue.
The heads of the authorities insisted on meeting in their jurisdiction, while the Prime Minister's people preferred distant places such as the Jezreel Valley, which caused a 70-day disconnection between the parties.
The importance of the meeting was in the promise that, in addition to Netanyahu, the members of the limited war cabinet would be present, who would be able to hear about the needs and challenges of the northern settlements directly.

When the date of the special meeting was announced, the Minister for Development of the Negev and the Galilee, Yitzhak Wasserlauf, contacted Netanyahu's office and asked to take part in the discussion, in order to turn the statements into operative actions on the ground.
The heads of the authorities also asked the bureau to summon Wasserlauf as well.
The answer they all received was that it was a limited meeting for the members of the War Cabinet.
But it turns out that the war cabinet expanded northward.
In addition to its members, the meeting was also attended by the Minister of Transportation, Miri Regev, the Minister of the Interior, Moshe Arbel, the Minister of Finance, Bezalel Smotrich, the Minister of Education, Yoav Kish, the Minister of Housing, Yitzhak Goldknopf, and the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Moshe Abutbul.
And who did they forget at home?
The minister in charge of the Negev, the one that the heads of the authorities in the north have noted favorably since the beginning of the fighting, as an individual who stands by their side without compromise and around the clock.
They were also among those who signed a letter in which they asked not to close the office as part of the cuts in the 2024 budget.
The environment of Negev and Galilee Minister Yitzhak Wasserlauf responded: "The minister is not part and does not intend to be part of these petty politics. Not normally and certainly not in these difficult days."
