The week of all dangers is brewing.
Gérald Darmanin asked law enforcement officials on Sunday to put in place “
an important defensive system in order to prevent any blockage” by farmers of the Rungis market and Ile-de-France airports and “to prohibit any entry into Paris
” , announced the Ministry of the Interior.
The FNSEA and Young Farmers of the Greater Paris Basin unions notably announced a “siege of the capital for an indefinite period” from Monday at 2 p.m.
Request for “moderation”
To prevent these actions, the Minister of the Interior notably brought together at Place Beauvau the directors general of the police and the gendarmerie, Frédéric Veaux and Christian Rodriguez, as well as the Paris police prefect, Laurent Nuñez, it was reported specified in the entourage of Gérald Darmanin.
The minister renewed his request for “
moderation
” on the part of the police against farmers.

The posture remains the same: the police must act with great moderation
,” we explained at Place Beauvau.
The police, it was added, “only intervene as a last resort and in the only case where the integrity of people is threatened or public or private buildings/property exposed to serious damage ( for example actions targeting foreign trucks).”
