From the Courmayeur design weekend to the Authors at the top review, the town's winter season at the foot of Mont Blanc offers a calendar of events for all tastes.
Starting from December 24, with the Atelier des Elfes, the creative workshops with Santa's elves (and hot chocolate for the sweet tooth) scheduled from 4 to 7 pm at the Jardin de l'Ange. Just a few days later, on Saturday 28 December, the ex-Milan prosecutor Edmondo Bruti Liberati presents his book 'Magistracy and society in republican Italy' (Laterza publishers). The event (at 6 pm at the headquarters of the Courmayeur Mont Blanc Foundation) is moderated by Paolo Colonnello, editor of La Stampa. Guido Neppi Modona, emeritus judge of the Constitutional Court, and Luciano Violante, former president of the Chamber of Deputies, take part in the dialogue with the author. The show 'Ossigeno' is scheduled for Saturday 25 January in favor of research on cystic fibrosis. The Oxygen theme is the guiding thread of the project by Freebody dance, so as to connect the respiratory aspect of cystic fibrosis with the identity of the Courmayeur territory, which can count on spaces for movement, sport and, precisely, oxygenation . Right on the territory of the town artists and athletes come together to create original, unexpected and memorable images.
'The other' is the theme of the 2019-2020 winter edition of Authors at the top, an exhibition that takes place from February 1 to March 14, 2020. For Fabio Geda, Andrea Donaera, Francesca Manfredi, Veronica Raimo and Dario Levantino 'l 'Other' is something that breaks the mold and leads to the question: More than whom? Their stories speak of mafia, violence against women, encounters and clashes. Precisely on the meaning of Other, three journeys were chosen through which the meeting places between different cultures tell of a different otherness and the intimate relationship of the human being with himself.
The first Courmayeur Design Weekend takes place from Thursday 6 to Sunday 9 February 2020. The town is transformed into a large installation, widespread in the shopping windows and hotel lounges which, for the occasion, open the doors to the creativity of design and architecture.
