(ANSA) - MADRID, JANUARY 2 - Pedro Sanchez today awaits the vialibera of the Catalans of Erc to establish a new government, ending the political paralysis in Spain, which has not been unlocked despite two general elections in the last six months. The national council of ERC will meet at 5pm in Barcelona to decide whether to abstain in the vote of confidence in the new executive progressive, the result of an understanding between the socialists of the prime minister in pectore and the radical left of Podemos. Psoe and Podemos do not have enough seats, therefore they need the support, even external, of other formations.
For now, Sanchez can count on the Pnv Basques. In this box, the abstention in the vote of confidence of the 13 members of Erc is decisive. In the long weeks of negotiations, the Socialist leader and the leaders of Erc agreed to establish a negotiating table between the central government and the local authorities of Barcelona with the aim of finding a "democratic solution to the conflict" in Catalonia.
