(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 09 - Journalist Italo Moretti died in Rome at the age of 86. Historical face of Rai, it had long been sent to South America. Tg3 makes it known.
He began his career at the age of 17, collaborating in Perugia with the local editorial offices of the national newspapers. He joined Rai in 1966. He was involved in sports, news, internal politics and foreign policy. In 1968 he began his work in Latin America.
He related the delicate situations of those years in Chile, Argentina and Uruguay.
In 1976 Italo Moretti entered the editorial staff of Tg2, continuing to devote himself to South America, but also to the politics of Portugal and Spain. In 1987 he was appointed vide-director of TG3, of which he then became director in 1995. From 1996 to 1998 he was the director of Tgr. (HANDLE).
