Hundreds of women from all over the country arrived at the Kum Il Fu compound in Tel Aviv for auditions for fashion week last Thursday. The auditions will be given the opportunity to walk the runway at Tel Aviv Fashion Week, which will be held this March.

Starting at five in the afternoon, many women of different ages arrived from the north, center and south. The panel of judges included fashion week producer Moti Reife, model and modeling agency Ray Segev, 71-year-old model Nurit Gordon, who was in the same position about five years ago when she came to test herself, and Haya Hausman, representative of DOVE Brand, the official partner of fashion week.

Of the exams, we found a religious girl named 23-year-old Shira Goldram from Castle Deer who came to auditions that she was wearing a Tom Boy look, a plaid shirt and wide jeans. "It's a kind of experience and curiosity," she told Israel Today. "A friend said I had a special beauty and I should try, so I came." Among those waiting were Mother and Daughter, Ilanit and Adar Lesri from Rishon Lezion. "I came for my daughter and she convinced me and told me to take a test. It would be exciting if both of us were elected and if nothing happened then it is an experience," says Ilanit.

17-year-old Nicole Musir also came from Blades in the South along with 46-year-old Mother Limor. "For my mother, it is a closing circle. She participated in the beauty queen competition 23 years ago and was among the last ten. It is fun for her to be here also with me as a lender and as a contestant. I would be happy even if she is accepted and I am not," says Nicole.

When I ask Rife how to choose from the many crowds, he replies, "For me, a model is a confident woman, a woman with a presence. I am looking for beautiful, confident women who feel they want to be part of the beautiful face of the Israeli fashion industry."

According to him, the events of the Tel Aviv Fashion Week have an emphasis on changing the ideal of feminine beauty. "This year we have taken a huge step forward as part of our collaboration with Dove, and you will see a huge change in the definition of who is a model and who can model."

He says of the queue outside, "It's very exciting to see the variety of women who came here, makes me happy that they feel they have a place today at Fashion Week."

Among those taking the exam was 24-year-old Doron Gannon on a wheelchair. Gannon, as mentioned, was injured five years ago when she was absent from the forum club in Be'er Sheva. Just before she enters she tells us that it was important for her to get all the way from Kiryat Gat and try and be accepted. "I really want to participate, I like to dress, put on makeup and have a fashionable awareness. I know there are many more like me, just that it's a shame that the company and the fashion chains still don't think so. When you see someone on a wheelchair they think they are weak, well groomed or out of date and that I would like to see more girls like me on tracks and campaigns. It already exists in the world, but we haven't seen any fashion company in the country doing a campaign and including someone on a wheelchair because we don't think we are buying power. We need to dress and look good Despite the disability. "

Reife is impressed with Magnon and says, "Doron is an example of a wheelchair girl, beautiful and radiant who wants to represent girls like her who want to dress nicely, look good and see them. I was glad to see her. We are still far from the concept and definition of what counts as a model, but it is a process that is slowly happening ". On the changes that will be on display this year, Reife says, "This year, for example, between the changes will be representation for a variety of sectors, there will also be a display for the ultra-Orthodox sector. This is a community that has a beautiful fashion and has not been expressed until now. There will be no girl or woman who will not find a representative of her appearance that she can identify with With her. "
