The daughter of basketball star Kobe Bryant, 13-year-old Gianna Maria , better known as "GiGi," was also aboard the helicopter and died in the accident recorded at noon in the city of Calabasas, California.
Kobe and his daughter were two of the five people who lost their lives in the accident, which is currently under investigation.

Bryant played for the Lakers for 20 years and retired in 2016 as the third largest scorer in the history of the NBA, closing his career as a prolific basketmaker with an excellent overall game and tireless competitiveness. He held that position until Saturday, when LeBron James surpassed himself and placed third during a game in Philadelphia.

Bryant had one of the best races in recent NBA history and became one of the most popular basketball players and the face of the Lakers.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
