Call of Duty Modern Warfare received an incredibly large patch on January 22, 2020. The update was intended to introduce a new weapon and to solve well-known problems such as slide canceling or the player collision . To the dismay of many, however, a much worse error occurred, which resets the entire rank.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare: Major update causes big problems with reset errors
PC players had to download an incredible 50 GB to play Call of Duty Modern Warfare again. For comparison: the main game required over 100 GB of storage space for the release in October 2019. In the gigantic update , the wishes of the players should finally be heard, but it turned out quite differently.
The highlight of the patch should be the introduction of a new weapon. The crossbow is now playable in Modern Warfare. Fans are quite enthusiastic about the explosive weapon. The weapon can be unlocked free of charge through an in-game mission. Combat helicopters can be brought from the sky with just three arrows.
A great wish of the community was heard: five more class slots found their way into the game. Since the prestige system in Call of Duty Modern Warfare has been abolished, players have so far been unable to access more class slots. However, the prestige in Call of Duty now seems to be making an unwanted comeback - thanks to a rank reset error .

For many players, this message was a shock, because the choices were only " yes " or " no ". However, there is a very simple trick to work around this error message in Call of Duty Modern Warfare. As developer Infinity Ward announced on Twitter, players should restart their system in such an incident. The error message should then have disappeared and the rank reset error should no longer occur.
