The French distributor Le Pacte has decided to postpone the release of the films Pinocchio by Matteo Garonne and La Daronne by Jean-Paul Salomé. Originally scheduled for March 18 and 25, these films no longer have a release date. The distributor justifies this decision by " the management of France to move towards stage 3 of the pandemic, according to the authorities ".

If Hollywood films are cautious at the idea of losing the Asian public, this is not the case of French films which fear them, the closure of cinemas in France. The French subsidiary of Warner Bros did not hesitate to postpone its film Miss until September 23, when the feature had already been seen by the press. Add to that that of Rocks by the British Sarah Gavron, expected now for June 17.

One of the reasons for these postponements is the closure of cinemas in the departments of Morbihan and Oise, main foci of the coronavirus epidemic in France, as a preventive measure. This closing trend makes studios fear a measure that could become national. But at the end of the day, only 34 cinemas were shut down this week and the situation even seems to be working out. Indeed, some cinemas in Vannes, Lorient and even Pontivy were able to reopen their doors this Friday afternoon.
