At least 884 elderly people have died from Covid-19 in French nursing homes, according to first official "very partial" figures, and at least 14,638 "confirmed or possible" cases of the disease have been identified there, announces the director general of Health, Jérôme Salomon. Since March 1, 4,503 deaths have been reported in hospitals and 6,399 serious cases require heavy care in intensive care, while France ends its 17th day of confinement to fight against Covid-19.
