(ANSA) - PALERMO, APRIL 03 - Assovini Sicilia, which brings together 90 of the island's wineries, will donate € 20,000 to the Community of Sant'Egidio and the Italian Red Cross of Palermo to support the fight against Covid-19. The decision was adopted by the Board of Directors "by adhering to the requests coming from its members" to "contribute in a concrete way to support those who are trying to offer help at this moment in great suffering for the country".
In Palermo the Community of Sant'Egidio has been committed for years to the care of homeless people, while CRI is working to guarantee the purchase of basic necessities.
The association has also decided to make an appointment in 2021 for the event Sicilia en Primeur, an event promoted by Assovini Sicilia which for 17 years has brought together around one hundred journalists from all over the world in May.
However, the Association has decided to virtually involve the Italian and foreign press that would be present at the event through a direct Facebook scheduled for Tuesday 12 May 2020 at 16 for Italy / EU and USA and Wednesday 13 May 2020 at 9 for Asia - India during which Assovini Siciliaavrà way to present data on the 2019 harvest trend.
