"Yes, we have the right to walk in the street if we have a garden, within the limit of one hour daily and within a maximum radius of one kilometer around the home," replies the Minister of the Interior , joined by the Parisian. These are therefore the same restrictions as for any individual who wishes to go out for a walk with their travel certificate.
Nowhere do the texts indicate that this exemption is reserved for those who do not have a garden at home. You therefore do not risk a fine if you go out justifying it with a need for physical activity or for walking with loved ones who live with you.
Use good judgment
On the other hand, the authorities and the police could encourage you even more than the other inhabitants not to leave your property and to exercise good judgment. Because outdoor outings must always be necessary and justified. Depending on the size of your garden, in some cases it is probably possible to take advantage of it to get some fresh air without having to go out on the street.
Furthermore, you have the right to go to your garden if it is not adjacent to your home. You must then "check the travel box to make essential purchases if you are harvesting fruit and vegetables in your garden" or "check the short travel box if it is to go to a pleasure garden", explains the government site.
