Coronavirus in France: 389 new deaths in 24 hours, 22,245 deaths in total

This Friday, according to the latest report from the Director General of Health, 4,870 patients are still in intensive care in French hospitals.


France deplores this Friday 389 more deaths than the previous day related to the coronavirus. A total of 22,245 people have died from Covid-19 since the start of the epidemic, announced Director General of Health Jérôme Salomon during his daily press briefing.

The General Directorate of Health lists a total of 13,852 deaths in hospitals (+ 305) and 8,393 deaths in medico-social establishments (+ 84), a large part of which occurred in nursing homes.

However, the number of people hospitalized for Covid-19 continues its slow decline: they were this Friday 28,658 in France, or 561 less in 24 hours.

43,493 healings

The number of patients in intensive care units also fell, with a negative balance of 183, and a total of 4,870 patients in serious situation.

In addition, at least 43,493 patients are cured. This figure does not include the cures of non-hospitalized people, who are also numerous.

Public Health France counts 122 577 cases of contamination on the whole territory.
