'In case of a new suspension, play-off and play-out'. For Amateurs, however, no recovery. And the Serie C protest (ANSA)

Stop the amateur football championships, ahead of the Serie A, B and C leagues, while the possibility of restarting the women's Serie A remains to be defined; Furthermore, the 2019/20 sporting season will have to end by August 31st, while the professional championships (A, B and C) and the Italian Cup must end by August 20th: this is what emerged from the FIGC Council held today in Rome and by videoconference.

In the unfortunate event of a second suspension of the championships caused by the coronavirus, the FIGC council will re-modulate the tournament formats with "short play-off and play-out phases"; if, on the other hand, you were forced to make a definitive interruption, "the classification will be defined by applying objective corrective coefficients that take into account the organization in groups, of the different number of matches played", providing in any case for promotions and relegations ".

The hottest topics of the season interrupted for the coronavirus emergency were addressed at the Federal Council. In addition to the number 1 of Italian football Gabriele Gravina, the president of Lazio and federal councilor Claudio Lotito, the president of the Lega di B Mauro Balata and that of the Lega Pro, Francesco Ghirelli were also physically present. The other components connected by videoconference.

"There is great satisfaction for the Federal Council in which the League B line has passed - commented Balata - The championship starts again (on June 20, ed) and all our requests that came from the assembly were accepted: I am proud of this. Now we need to move forward with the reforms. "

Ghirelli is of a completely different opinion : "I have to speak the language of truth: what came out of the Federal Council does not satisfy me at all. Serie C has its own specificity in the professional field; otherwise, one would not understand why there are Serie A , B and, in fact, C. We are not able to return to play, we are not able to ensure the certainty of the measures to safeguard health: the 60 social doctors have also told us. we know the new protocol leads us to say that it will be even harder for our clubs. I hope I am wrong. "

Yesterday the Minister of Sports Vincenzo Spadafora had announced the definitive ok to collective training, setting a meeting with all the members of football for May 28 to decide if and when to restart the championships.
