The National Ministry of Health released the new data on the coronavirus in Argentina. This Sunday 774 new infected and 16 other deaths were known in the last 24 hours.
As of noon, eight new deaths were reported. Seven are women: three of 79, 82 and 88 years, residing in the City of Buenos Aires (CABA); one of 82 years, resident in the province of Chaco; a 52-year-old resident in the province of La Rioja; and two, 52 and 78 years old, residing in the province of Buenos Aires; and a 61-year-old man, resident in the province of Río Negro.
While on Saturday 4,635 new samples were made and since the start of the outbreak, 193,923 diagnostic tests were carried out for this disease, which is equivalent to 4,273 samples per million inhabitants.
The main affected age groups of the registered cases correspond to people between 20 and 59 years old, with an average age of 33 years.
During the last days, the registry of cases showed an increasing trend. This occurs at a time when the country is approaching winter, the moment with the highest record of respiratory symptoms.
"We are studying week 23. In general, the epidemiological weeks with the highest registry of respiratory cases are between 25 and 27 (which corresponds from June 14 to July 4 this year )," Clarín Teresa Varela, director of Epidemiological Surveillance of the Ministry of Health of the Province of Buenos Aires. In between, June 28 - a week after the start of winter - ends the term of the new quarantine extension.
Meanwhile, this Monday it is expected to enter a new stage of quarantine throughout the country, with special opening of shops and permitted activities.
