Personal safety, promotion of responsible consumption, decrease in water needs and CO2 emissions in production. These are the main items of the 'Brewing a Better World' sustainability plan launched by Heineken in 2010 and whose main results were disseminated on the occasion of World Environment Day. In 2019 Heineken Italia spent almost 4.3 million euros on efficiency improvement works, reducing environmental impact and improving safety devices in its breweries in Italy. Among the main results achieved there are 6 thousand hours invested in training on health and safety by people working in breweries in 2019, the decrease in water production needs of 41% since 2010, the reduction of CO2 emissions by 59% from 2010. In addition, 100% of the electricity used comes from certified photovoltaic renewable sources, with 16984 solar panels installed on the Massafra and Comun Nuovo breweries. Heineken Italia also donated 750 thousand euros directly or indirectly to voluntary organizations, foundations and local associations, while 10% of the brand's advertising budget in 2019 was invested in campaigns dedicated to the promotion of responsible consumption which reached 21 million people.

The company continues to invest to reduce its impact on the production level. Sustainability but also personal safety.
