(ANSA) - TEHERAN, JULY 15 - Appeals to the authorities in Iran to block the death sentences of the young people arrested during the protests of last November against the expensive petrol are growing. Confirmation of the sentence against the three - Amirhossein Moradi, Mohammad Rajabi and Saeed Tamjidi - was announced yesterday. The appeals for their life to be spared have been launched by thousands of users, especially on social media, also asking for a general moratorium on executions in the Islamic Republic, which have seen a resurgence in recent days.
    Several public figures who joined the initiative, including the directors Asghar Farhadi - two times Oscar winner - and Tahmineh Milani and the actors Mahnaz Afshar, Taraneh Alidousti and Navid Mohammadzadeh.
    According to the Netblocks monitoring site, Internet access in Iran was slowed down last night during the height of the protest. (HANDLE).
