The 2020 Billboard Music Awards were held this Wednesday at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California, where one of the big winners was undoubtedly
Post Malone
, who was awarded in no less than nine categories, including Best Artist, Best Artist Male, Best Rap Artist and Best Rap Album, among others.
The ceremony, which was postponed due to the COVID-19 epidemic, was held without the presence of the public and was led by
Kelly Clarkson
.
The contest kicked off with the night's first winner,
Billie Eilish
, for Best Top 200 Album, followed by stunning performances by
Sia
and
Alicia Keys
.
However, there were other highlights during this awards show, and one of them was the one in which singer
John Legend
dedicated his performance to his wife
Chrissy Teigen
, who recently suffered the loss of her unborn child.
Before performing 'Never Break', the lyrics of which include "we will never break," Legend told viewers, "This is for Chrissy."
"John, that was so beautiful," host Kelly Clarkson said after the musician's pre-recorded performance.
"All my love to you and Chrissy," he added.
But that was not the only emotional moment of the night, as another of them was starred by
Bad Bunny
when he was the winner as Best Latin Artist, and jumped on stage to perform 'Yo perreo sola' with
Ivy Queen
and
Nesi
.
After his presentation, the artist thanked in Spanish and English, and provided a profound message related to violence against women.
"Thanks to the Billboards, to all my fans around the world. I want to dedicate this award to all women around the world, especially Latin women and Puerto Rico. Without you there would be nothing, neither music nor reggaeton "said the interpreter.
"Enough of the sexist violence against women. We are going to educate, now in the present for a better future. I am not a social music artist, but let's learn that it is possible to dog, be polite and respectful at the same time. If she doesn't want to dance with you, respect, she dogs alone, "he added.
Another artist who stood out at the awards was
Demi Lovato
, who performed as part of the
guest
shows
with the theme 'Commander in Chief'.
In front of a black piano, Lovato performed this song, considered a criticism of President
Donald Trump
, because in it he talks about racial injustice, the coronavirus crisis and other social problems that Americans live.
This is how these awards were finally held, with which the artists who topped the popularity charts between March 23, 2019 and March 14, 2020 were recognized.
