Paramount will remake Little House on the Prairie

(ANSA) - NEW YORK, DECEMBER 18 - "The Little House on the Prairie" could return to the small screen: "Entertainment Weekly" has learned that the TV studios Paramount and Anonymous Content, Steve Golin's production company in which she recently entered with a minority stake Lauren Powell Jobs, are working on the creation of a new television series on the saga inspired by the novels "Little House" by Laura Ingalls Wilders.

    Directly involved in the project is Trip Friendly's Friendly FamilyProductions, son and heir of Hollywood producer Ed Friendly who bought the rights to Ingalls' novels in the late 1960s.

It is not yet clear which actors will be involved in the project even if at least one member of the original cast, Alison Arngrim who for the first seven seasons gave face and voice to the busty and insolent Nellie Oleson, said she was ready to return to the game with a role.

    With its little protagonists dressed as as many Holly Hobbie, the first series aired on Nbc between 1974 and 1983 and in Italy on Rai1 with the title La casa nella prateria.

   Set in Walnut Grove, a remote village in Minnesota, it told the story of a traditional family of the late nineteenth century, addressing important and ever-present issues such as adoption, alcoholism, racism, drugs.

    Michael Landon, the "Little Joe" of the Cartwright family in "Bonanza", agreed to make the pilot episode as long as he had the part of Laura's father, Charles Ingalls, symbol of the man who struggles against adversity and ultimately wins.

PerLaura was chosen after more than five hundred auditions Melissa Gilbert.
